SpaceX continues work on Starship Park, a $13.8 million development featuring a monument park and amenities building on a 115,000-square-foot site along State Highway 4.[1] Permits were filed in February, with construction underway since February 16 and targeted completion by August 31.

Launch Site Enhancements

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recently approved a permit allowing SpaceX to expand its Starbase launch site by 21 acres, more than doubling its current footprint.[2] The project involves filling over 17 acres of wetlands and constructing new test and staging pads, propellant and water storage, blast walls, and internal roadways. Groundwork, including piling for a new flame trench at Pad 1, advances alongside vegetation removal and site leveling.

Professional Opportunities

SpaceX is hiring for several construction roles tied to Starship initiatives, including Construction Project Manager for Starbase Development, Construction Superintendent for Starship night shifts, Welding Superintendent, and Survey Superintendent for the Starship Launch Pad.[3] These positions support the expansion of manufacturing and launch infrastructure.

Looking ahead, completion of Starship Park by late summer will introduce new amenities, while launch site upgrades position the facility for intensified Starship testing and flights in the coming months.
