The US 160 reconstruction project through downtown Pagosa Springs remains active in its winter phase, with crews focusing on stormwater utility work and other upgrades as weather conditions allow.[1][2] Recent activities include ongoing stormwater utility installation on the 100-300 blocks of the south side of Pagosa Street and utility placement at the south side of the 2nd Street intersection.

Snow Removal Coordination

A joint snow removal team comprising Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) maintenance personnel, WW Clyde construction staff, and Town of Pagosa Springs Public Works has been established to maintain access through downtown during storms.[3] This effort prioritizes clearing US 160, supporting emergency services, schools, and businesses, with on-street parking restricted between 1st and 10th Streets to facilitate plowing.

CDOT Region 5 Program Engineer Kevin Curry noted the progress enabled by recent weather, stating, "The full WW Clyde/Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) team will resume season two of full construction in early March 2026, weather permitting."[1]

The town is also advancing complementary infrastructure improvements, including pedestrian access enhancements, modern lighting, and drainage upgrades along the corridor.[4]

As spring approaches, the project anticipates reversing the traffic configuration, shifting two lanes to the north side while completing concrete paving on the south side, along with intersection improvements at Harman Park Drive and Piedra Road.[5] These developments will shape traffic patterns and downtown access in the coming months.
