Drivers are directed to use Ranchito Drive as a detour during the closure.
South Lamar Progress
On South Lamar Boulevard, the City of Austin reported continued progress on corridor improvements as of August 4. The project is approaching final design and has been split into segments for efficiency. Bid solicitations for the southern segment from Montclaire Street to US-290 began in July, with construction anticipated later in the year.
Additional work includes ongoing stormwater improvements expected to continue through 2027 and contractor selection for the Del Curto/Bluebonnet roundabout, slated to start in fall. A Mary Street roundabout was completed earlier in spring.
